Program in progress:

Observing and Depicting the Natural World in Music: Expanding the concept of the Weather Music program, this program presents pieces in which composers have set out to use their work to conjure and observe natural phenomena, including the changing seasons, elements of wind, fire, and metal, weather phenomena and the universe’s essential tendency toward chaos. It will include works by Ligeti (Automne à Varsovie, Arc-en-ciel, Fém, Désordre), Liszt (Chasse-Niege, Feux follets), Ives (“Thoreau” from Concord Sonata), Debussy and new “Weather Score” works made in collaboration with sculptor Nathalie Miebach.
